Matt McCann ’94
Matt McCann is the DHS Office of Infrastructure Protection’s Regional Director for New England. He concurrently serves as a Captain in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, assigned as the Senior Reserve Officer for Sector New York, the organization’s largest field command. Matt last worked as the Deputy Federal Preparedness Coordinator for DHS’ Federal Emergency Management Agency Region 1 focused on enhancing whole community resiliency in six states. Matt’s response history includes the JFK Jr. search/recovery, the 9/11 NYC terrorist attacks, the Deepwater Horizon spill, and hurricanes Isabel, Katrina and Ike. He is a Certified Emergency Manager. Matt earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies/History from Norwich University in 1994 and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of New Hampshire. He is an alumnus of the GS Graduate School’s Executive Potential Program and has further studied at the US Naval War College and the National Defense University.
