Dr. Steve Sobelman ’67
Dr. Steve Sobelman, a licensed psychologist, maintains a private clinical psychotherapy practice in Baltimore, Maryland. Additionally, he serves as a staff psychologist for the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury at Kennedy Krieger Institute, working with PTSD and trauma patients. He is also an Emeritus Professor of Psychology at Loyola University, Baltimore, Maryland, where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses as well as conducted and continues to conduct psychotherapy research resulting in numerous books, book chapters, and professional articles being published. He consulted with the Maryland State Police for 10 years as a hostage profiler, having received intensive training through the FBI course, Hostage Negotiations and Terrorism Control. With this knowledge and training, he served and serves as a consultant to many U.S. Government agencies and local law enforcement jurisdictions.
