International Studies

Do you dream of exploring the capitals of Europe, wildlife parks of Africa, country villages in South America or the wonders of rapidly evolving China?

When you major in International Studies, you learn about foreign languages and cultures at the source. The program is designed to help students better understand the times we live in, and develop the capacity to function effectively within them. Our students take courses in history, political science, economics, the humanities, modern language and international studies itself.

Requirements include at least one semester in a study-abroad program where the student develops language proficiency and cultural understanding. Students are prepared for their overseas experience through the course work they take on campus, including advanced studies in Spanish, French, German or Chinese. CityLAB:Berlin is an exciting opportunity which allows students to spend a semester in the heart of Europe and experience the history, politics, and culture of Germany first-hand.

While abroad, our students develop the cultural sensitivity crucial for careers in government, the military, business, international agencies and nonprofit service organizations.
